Otomi art

The name Otomi proceeds from the Nahuatl root words, otoac ("walk") and mitl ("arrow"). These combine to form the words otomitl/ totomitl, from which Otomi is directly taken and which mean "those who hunt birds with bow and arrow ." Otomi textiles originate from the indigenous Otomi people of Hidalgo and Queretaro, Mexico.

It was developed by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts. A Zentangle is done on a 9 CM (3.5 inch) square tile. Large pieces of art are called Zentangle Inspired Art.

Intending art

Intending is a very simple yet effective technique that produces interesting results. Indenting the Process of making an image with an indented line. This simple technique produces delicate, white lines that are ideal for finely detailed Art Doodling. The end result can be both subtle and sophisticated.

madhubani art

Madhubani Art (or Mithila painting) is practiced in the Mithila region of India and Nepal. It was named after Madhubani District of Bihar, India which is where it is originated.  It is characterized by its eye-catching geometrical patterns. There is ritual content for particular occasions, such as birth or marriage, and festivals, such as Holi, Surya Shasti, Kali Puja, Upanayana, and Durga Puja.

warli art

The Warli tribe from India uses a very simple form to make their Art , which Depicts Hunting, Dancing , sowing and Harvesting and is normally painted on their Mud Walls. The warli only use white for their paintings, made from Rice paste gum and Water. A piece of Bamboo is chewed at the End to form a Brush. The warli use CIRCLES inspired by the moon and Sun , SQUARES meaning sacred enclosure, TRIANGLES based on the Mountains and Trees.

Bhil art

The Bhils are the second largest tribal community of India residing in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Everything connected with the Bhil life is painted – the Sun, the Moon, the animals, trees, insects, rivers, fields, mythological figures, and their gods. The Bhils, like all adivasis, live close to nature.

Lines painting

Line art or line painting is any image that consists of distinct straight lines or curves placed against a background (usually plain), without gradations in shade (darkness) or hue (color) to represent two-dimensional or three-dimensional objects.

Patterning with Connector pen
